Swedes win KCAC men's honors

LINDSBORG — Bethany College’s comeback to make the playoffs last week, winning two games to slip in at the No. 6 spot in the postseason tournament, earned it two awards today by the KCAC.

Jonathan Gidson was named Offensive Player of the Week after scoring 58 points and pulling down 22 rebounds in two games. He was 19 of 35 from the field and 5 of 9 from beyond the arc.

Tyler Larkin was named Defensive Player of the Week. The freshman guard had 15 rebounds in the wins over Bethel and Ottawa, in addition to scoring 22 points and dealing off 13 assists. He also had six blocks and five steals despite standing 6-0.

Friends’ Shann Sellers, who had two monster double-double games last week, earned both honors for the women.
