KCAC men's basketball postseason honors announced

A lot of familiar names dot the All-KCAC Men’s Basketball Team announced today.

Lance Carter of Tabor was named Player of the Year and was joined on the first team by longtime staples Cameron Clark of Southwestern, Grant Greenberg of Saint Mary and Jonathan Gidson of Bethany. Southwestern’s Chris Waller rounded out the first team.

Tabor’s Micah Ratzlaff was named Coach of the Year after the Bluejays ran the table with a 20-0 KCAC record. Oklahoma Wesleyan’s Breiman Alexander was Freshman of the Year, Tabor’s Jonathan Gibson was Defensive Player of the Year and Bethel’s RayJon Craig was tabbed Newcomer of the Year.

Bethany’s Gary Jones headlined the second team. Others were D’Marco Smith of Tabor, Toby Baxter of Friends, Preston Oakes of Ottawa and RayJohn Craig of Bethel.

McPherson College’s Chris Crook was on the third team, along with Marshon Norfleet of Ottawa, CJ Ross of Oklahoma Wesleyan, Malik Brooks of Tabor and Brett Williams of Friends.

Honorable mention selections were Alexander of Oklahoma Wesleyan, Gibson of Tabor, Jordan Thomas of Saint Mary, Dominique Johnson of Kansas Wesleyan, Brandon Givens and Maurice Williams of Sterling, Deven Goodwin and Jenson Kingsley of Bethel and Brandon Johnson of Friends.

On the All-Defensive Team, members were Gibson of Tabor, Lennell Monroe of Southwestern, Marcus Mondaine of Saint Mary, Alex Hasty of Ottawa and Kaleb Ratliff of Friends.

The All-Freshman Team consisted of Alexander and Ryan Scheussler of Oklahoma Wesleyan, Tyler Larkin of Bethany, Cameron Hunt of Southwestern and Chase Banister of Bethel
