SALINA — Kansas Wesleyan men’s basketball coach Chris Fear resigned on Thursday after five seasons.

Fear was just 29-115 overall, 18-74 in the KCAC. His best season was 2012-13 when the Coyotes were 8-20. He never won more than five conference games in a season.

Fear, in today’s Salina Journal, cited the school’s tight-fisted scholarship policy as one reason his teams could never gain traction in the KCAC. KW reportedly ranks at the bottom in terms of financial aid it gives to its basketball recruits despite the fact it has perhaps the best facilities in the conference as Mabee Arena is regarded as the jewel of the conference by many.
