BALDWIN CITY — McPherson College’s softball team lost a road twinbill on Saturday to Baker.

It was a difficult start to the day as the Bulldogs were no-hit by Baker’s Olivia Brees in the first game, 8-0. Two Bulldogs did draw walks. Syndey Lang took the loss as Baker scored half its runs in the first inning.

The Bulldogs had a great chance to earn the split, up 4-2 going into the bottom of the sixth. But the Wildcats scored two runs in that inning to tie it, then pushed across a run in the bottom of the seventh for the walk-off victory.

Emily Davis was immense going 3 for 4 from her leadoff spot, including a double, while Amanda Darrow socked a homer. Katie Usdansky took the loss, though two of the runs she allowed were unearned.

Mac, now 2-9, will play five games next weekend in the Friends Tournament, two on Friday and three on Saturday.
