Reily Martin’s two-out single scored Trent Smith with the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning here Sunday to give McPherson College’s baseball team a pulsating 6-5 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan in the rubber game of the three-game series.
The Bulldogs have now equaled last year’s victory total as they are 8-6 on the season.
Dylan Klava, who drove in nine runs in the two games on Saturday, was 3 for 3 before being intentionally walked his final two appearances. Martin and Trevor Haycock had two hits apiece.
Colter Streck went seven innings on the mound for the Bulldogs in a quality performance. Blake Ware eventually was the winner in relief.
The Bulldogs head to Bethany, Okla., on Tuesday for two games with Southwestern Christian University.
