McPherson College senior basketball standout Bailey Brown earned second-team honors for the Academic All-America College Division Women's Basketball Team, announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)
"Bailey is an amazing athlete that has won many awards in her basketball career," McPherson College coach Gordon Reimer said. "This academic honor amplifies what it means to be a student-athlete."
Brown was a major contributor the moment she stepped on the court for the Bulldogs. She ended her career with 1,520 points on 407-of-1,037 shooting from the field and an astonishing 607-of-783 free throws.
A check of the records shows the Beloit High graduate and Glen Elder native is second all-time in scoring for MC and holds 14 school records, while in the top three of several others.
Brown scored 472 points this season on 41.5 percent shooting from the floor, 125-of-301; she went 189-of-226 from the foul line for a 83.6 free throw percentage, which ranked 13th in the NAIA D-II. The 5-4 guard also grabbed 162 rebounds, second on the team.
