WICHITA — Just as they did during the regular season, the Tabor College basketball teams dominated the KCAC in the postseason tournament.
Both Bluejay teams captured championships on Monday at Hartman Arena as they validated their regular seasons.
The Tabor men were a 75-68 winner over Southwestern behind 20 points and 12 rebounds by KCAC MVP Lance Carter. Southwestern, however, also advances to nationals by virtue of its second-place regular-season finish.
The Tabor women ended Ottawa’s Cinderella run with a 59-53 victory, which means Friends — which finished second during the regular season — earns the second national berth.
The men’s tournament will be in Point Lookout, Mo., and the women’s tournament is in Sioux City, Iowa. Tabor’s men did not lose a single KCAC game this season, while the Bluejay women lost just once, that to Southwestern.
