Throw your expired documentation away and check to be sure it is up to date frequently. Providing current verification via electronic device is also acceptable, but again it must be produced when asked for.
The Officer shall cite the driver when current proof of insurance cannot be provided. Failure to provide proof of liability insurance is a non-moving violation. Fines start at $300 with $55.50 Municipal Court fee and may increase to $800 with more convictions. The court may dismiss any citation when a driver provides proof of coverage on the date the citation was issued.
