HESSTON — Olivia Brubacher is normally a distributor for the Hesston girls.

On Tuesday, she turned into a scorer.

Brubacher buried three 3-pointers and scored 10 points as part of the Swathers’ 58-12 rout of Trinity Catholic in the first round of the Halstead Class 3A sub-state.

The Swathers now move on to Halstead where they’ll play Remington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Brubacher scored seven of her 10 points in the first half as Hesston sped to a 36-4 lead.

Kailey Jo Ince and Cami Richardson added 13 and 11 points, respectively, even though they barely played half the game. The Swathers were sharp at the foul line, making 13 of 16.

Southeast of Saline and Marion were winners on the other side of the bracket.
