HILLSBORO — Hillsboro’s boys ended Little River’s basketball season on Tuesday, but not before the Redskins put up a tremendous battle in the Ell-Saline Class 2A sub-state in losing 54-50.

It was a tight game all the way as Hillsboro led 29-26 at the half and the teams could have played in a closet the rest of the way.

Little River, which ended the year 9-12, received a monster 22-point game from Clay Zeller, while Damien Martinez scored 12.

Hillsboro, now 14-7, moves on to play Moundridge at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Brookville.
