STERLING — Times continue to be tough for Central Christian College’s softball team, which dropped both ends of a twinbill to Sterling on Wednesday.

The Lady Tigers led the opener 7-6 before Sterling scored a run in the bottom of the sixth inning and the winner in the bottom of the seventh for an 8-7 victory. Central had led 6-2 early, but Sterling battled back.

Lyssa Ritchhart and Cristina Insua had two hits apiece to lead the Lady Tigers.

Sterling jumped out to a 5-0 first-inning lead in Game 2 and never looked back in an 11-3 victory. Ritchhart had a terrific game in defeat by going 3 for 3.

Since winning their first game of the season, the Lady Tigers have now dropped 13 straight. They take on crosstown rival McPherson College on Tuesday at Wall Park.
