C-G girls lose to No. 2 seed Berean

BROOKVILLE — An excellent basketball season for the Canton-Galva girls ended Thursday with a 46-32 loss to No. 2 seed Berean Academy in the semifinals of the Ell-Saline Class 2A sub-state.

The Eagles were down 28-18 at the half and all hopes they had of a comeback were dashed in the third quarter as they could manage only three points.

Cassidy Enns concluded one of the great careers in C-G history with 14 points as she was a four-year standout. Earlier this season, she broke the Eagles’ school record with a 42-point game.

Kelly Unruh’s Eagles finished with season with a 12-10 record. Berean advanced to play Moundridge at 6 p.m. for the right to advance to state.
