BURRTON — Elyria Christian School’s girls and old rival Central Christian will hook up Saturday for the championship of the Burrton Class 1A Division II sub-state.
The Eagles, who had a first-round bye, stormed into the finals with a 44-23 rout of Pawnee Heights on Friday.
The title game is set for 6 p.m.
“I was very pleased with the defensive pressure our girls applied in the first three quarters tonight,” ECS coach Greg Fields said. “Moriah Redenbaugh was everywhere on the court and she created turnovers without fouling. It was great to see her contribute so much offensively as well.”
Rachel Adamyk led Elyria with 21 points, while Redenbaugh had 14, along with 10 rebounds.
“Rachel worked so hard to get easy shots when we needed them,” Fields said. “Our JV girls did some good things in the fourth quarter, but they need to learn to keep intensity up without fouling.”
