HALSTEAD — The Hesston girls are one victory away from a chance to defend their back-to-back Class 3A state basketball titles.

After handling Remington 45-29 on Friday, the two-time champions need a win over a very good Southeast of Saline team at 6:00 tonight to advance.

Cami Richardson fired in 22 points to lead the Swathers, who also received 10 points from Alaina Dunlavy.

It was a close game for a half, 20-17, but Hesston dominated the second half for the comfortable victory. The Swathers are now 18-4 on the season.

Southeast of Saline fended off Marion 44-34 and takes a 17-5 record into its game tonight.
