MHS wrestlers garner four first-team honors

Co-champion McPherson High was well represented on the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Division III wrestling first team announced today.

Bullpups making the first team were Cole Kretzer at 120, Kaleb Jost at 182, Dylan Baldwin at 195 and Ty Goss at 285.

Austin Eldredge was a second-team pick at 132, while honorable mention selections were EJ Kretzer at 106, Ben Hopkins at 126, Scott Radke at 138 and Alex Grennan at 220.

El Dorado’s Wes Reynolds was named Coach of the Year, while the Wildcats’ Payton Sadowski and Dacota Motter shared MVP honors.

MHS and El Dorado were both 4-1 in league play, while the rest of the order included Winfield (3-2), Augusta (2-3), Buhler (2-3) and Rose Hill (0-5). It was the Bullpups’ first league title in school history.
