Central cagers receive several honors

Central Christian College’s basketball teams have raked in some honors this week.

CCC’s Heather Crittenden was named to the NCCAA Central Region first team. A transfer from Otero College, she averaged 15.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.3 blocks.

The Tiger men, who are involved this week in postseason play, had two players selected to both the AII All-Conference team and the NCCAA All-Region Team. 

Alonzo Stafford was first-team NCCAA All-Region and second-team AII. He nearly averages a double-double (16.9 points, 9.8 rebounds). He also also selected to the AII Conference All-Tournament Team.

Michael Gholston joined Stafford as an All-Conference and All-Region selection, earning honorable mention by both. He leads the team with a 17.2 scoring average.

Brandon Glynn, a fifth-year senior was honored by the AII Conference as part of the Champions of Character Team. The conference recognizes a player from each team that exemplifies the five core values of the NAIA's Champions of Character initiative which are Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship and Servant Leadership.
