Next week marks Severe Weather Awareness Week in Kansas as the transition continues from winter to spring.
As part of the awareness week, the statewide tornado drill will take place on Tuesday evening next week at 6:30 p.m. This is a change from past years, where the drill is usually held mid-morning. The postponement date will be March 17 if the weather is bad on Tuesday.
The drill will not only the testing of the tornado sirens, but also the Emergency Alert System through weather radios, as well as on the air through radio and TV stations.
Again, the statewide tornado drill is planned for Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
