Baseball Tigers edged by Benedictine

ATCHISON — Central Christian College’s baseball team suffered its second straight one-run loss and its 11th straight overall on Friday, losing a 5-4 road verdict to Benedictine College.

Andrew Hightower pitched well in defeat, allowing only two earned runs and striking out four in eight innings.

The Tigers actually doubled the Ravens in hits, 12-6. Shomari Cann and Tanner Black both went 3 for 4 for the Tigers, while Stephen Boedeker and Caleb Gorman added two apiece.

Central, now 11-14, stays on the road today to play Evangel University.
