NATIONAL CHAMP! Mac's Lanning takes collegiate title

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — McPherson High graduate Addie Lanning is a national champion.

Lanning on Saturday captured the National Collegiate Wrestling Association’s 136-pound division national championship while wrestling for Ottawa University.

She won her first match of the day with a fall over Brittany Hennessee from Tennessee. In her semifinal match, she won by a fall over KaMele Sanchez of Colorado State. Lanning then faced Veenah Francis of South Florida in the championship match, winning by a fall as she simply dominated the field.

Lanning is a sophomore at Ottawa.
