The McPherson Convention and Visitors Bureau is moving to the McPherson Museum from its current location in downtown McPherson, a change lauded by Mayor Tom Brown as a step toward establishing a first class travel center.

The City Commission approved the request yesterday for the move that is expected to be completed by the end of May with a projected cost not to exceed $43,529.55, according to CVB Director Joni Regnier.

Following the City Commission's unanimous approval, Mayor Brown offered up a reminder that CVB funds are provided by the transient guest tax and not by property taxes of McPherson residents.
