Tigers take 6th at national tourney

WINONA LAKE, Ind. — Central Christian College’s men’s basketball team wound up taking sixth place in the NCCAA National Tournament after a 69-56 loss Friday to No. 3 seed Ohio Christian.

The Tigers were ice cold all night from the field, making just 17 of 48 shots. However, they did have a great night at the foul line by making 17 of 18, though Ohio Christian did even better by going 16 for 16.

Central played strong defense in the first half to trail only 30-28, but never could get anything going offensively.

Ernest Burton led the Tigers with 12 points off the bench and Kendric Warren added 11.

The Tigers finished with a 20-15 record.

Central (56) — Nwosuh 3, Gholston 7, Clayborn 5, Adams 9, Warren 11, Jackson 5, Guillory 4, Burton 12.

Ohio Christian (69) — Hoover 8, Bartlett 5, Baker 11, Jackson 13, Thomas 6, Johnson 14, Daily 8, Maybry 4.
