No one was reported injured yesterday afternoon after a small plane landed on a road in McPherson County.

Ian Barnhart of Wichita was piloting the single-engine Hawker Beechcraft when he conducted a routine flight check that indicated a mechanical problem serious enough to attempt an emergency landing. Neither Barnhart nor his passenger Michael Parisi, of Texas, were injured despite what ended up being a complete engine failure.

The aircraft successfully landed on 21st Ave. just south of Overland Road, about two miles north of Galva. The plane did take down a power line during its landing and McPherson's BPU has been notified. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, according to KWCH and other local reports.
