For the second time in one week, emergency crews were called on to rescue a man who had become trapped inside a Kansas grain elevator. Alan Sents was trapped last Friday for over six hours in a 100-foot grain elevator in rural Marquette at the McPherson County Feeders, where he is also the owner and manager. According to McPherson Weekly News, Sents was successfully freed at 5:40 pm and rushed to Via Christi at St. Francis in Wichita in serious condition. He has since been released.
Three days prior to Sents' rescue, Thomas Bentsen had become trapped inside a grain elevator in Conway Springs in Sumner County, south of Sedgwick, and was admitted into a Wichita hospital for two days. He, too, had been trapped for over six hours.
