Sports in Kansas’ website has selected McPherson High’s Drew Pyle as its Class 4A Division I Player of the Year.

Pyle also made the All-State All-Class first team, just as he did by The Wichita Eagle and Topeka Capital-Journal. Those honors earn him an automatic spot on the MHS Wall of Fame in December.

He also was on the Class 4A Division I first team, along with his brother, Ben.

McPherson’s Taylor Robertson was named All-State All-Class second team and was picked to the Class 4A Division I first team. Mandi Cooks was named to the Division I second team for girls.

Here are the area selections:

• Rachel Adamyk, Elyria Christian School — 1st team Class 1A Division II

• Cami Richardson, Hesston — 3rd team All-State All-Class; 1st team Class 3A

• Scott Duerksen, Hesston — 1st team Class 3A

• Ashley Holler, Moundridge — 1st team Class 2A

• Nick Reinert, Smoky Valley — 2nd team Class 4A Division II
