BROOKVILLE — Smoky Valley’s baseball team charged back to win Game 2 with Ell-Saline on Tuesday to earn a split of the season-opening doubleheader.
The Vikings were an 8-4 winner in the nightcap with Ben Weldy notching the win on the mound. Four Vikings collected two hits each, including Zach Able, Jordin Foth, Ty Campbell and Zion Thomas.
The game was tied at 2-all when the Vikes erupted for four runs in the fourth inning. They played good defense behind Weldy, committing just one error.
