Matt Cole has resigned as Moundridge football coach after one season.

The Wildcats were 3-6 in Cole’s one campaign. He informed his team of his departure Monday afternoon.

"This was one of the most difficult decisions of my life, but I know Moundridge will be in good hands," Cole said. "I am proud of what we did at Moundridge and am comfortable knowing this is the last group of young men I will ever coach."

Cole has been hired as the new sports director and sales executive at 96.7 KBBE, replacing Chris Swick. Swick recently left to work for a radio station in Manhattan. At KBBE, Cole will be the Voice of the McPherson Bullpups and McPherson College Bulldogs, do daily sportcasts and work in sales.

He will begin his new job on April 11.

"I am excited about the opportunity with KBBE-KNGL and look forward to being a part of that team for years to come," Cole said.
