Coyotes outscore Tigers, 20-12

SALINA — The baseball pitchers for Central Christian College and Kansas Wesleyan apparently took the day off on Wednesday.

The game turned into a high-scoring slugfest, with the Coyotes outscoring the Tigers 20-12 in the single, nine-inning game.

Graham Greenbeck was 4 for 5 for CCC, while Shomari Cann had three hits. Zane Howard homered and drove in three runs. For the day the Tigers pounded out 15 hits, but the Coyotes tattooed the Tiger pitchers for 23.

Both teams had a seven-run inning during the day, but the Coyotes tallied six times in the eighth to break open the close game.

Central is now 14-24 on the season. It goes on the road for a four-game series at Manhattan Christian starting on Friday and concluding on Saturday.
