Softball Bulldogs earn first KCAC win

YORK, Neb. — McPherson College’s softball team recorded its first KCAC win of the season during a split on Thursday against York College.

The win came in Game 2 as the Bulldogs turned in perhaps their best performance of the year in a 13-3 rout. Mac lashed 18 hits and cobbled together a pair of four-run innings.

Emily Davis was 4 for 4, while Shelby Maycumber was 3 for 5 with four RBIs. Katie Holmes added three RBIs. Katie Usdansky picked up the win.

The Bulldogs had lost the first game 6-4 after leading 4-2 going into the bottom of the sixth inning when the Panthers attacked for four runs. 

Holmes hit a three-run homer to highlight the Mac offense.

The Bulldogs are now 1-5 in the KCAC and 6-27 overall. Mac entertains Ottawa for a KCAC twinbill on Saturday.
