McPherson College’s road to another KCAC women’s tennis championship may be a little more difficult this season.

The 21st-ranked Bulldogs opened KCAC play here Saturday by rallying past Ottawa, 5-4. The Braves are receiving national ranking votes.

Ottawa appeared to be well on its way to winning the conference opener as it led 3-0 after the doubles matches, but the Bulldogs roared back to win five of the six singles matches.

Mac’s singles winners were Lea Striegel, Zoe Bouwmeester, Nikki Thornburg, Deiah Curtis and Nadine Baquiran.

Mac has no rest as it’s playing today in Topeka against Washburn University.
