Golfers may soon be able to purchase beer any day of the week at McPherson's Turkey Creek Golf Course.

McPherson's City Commission this morning approved Director of Public Lands and Facilities Wayne Burns' request for the city of McPherson to modify its code of ordinance governing the sale of malt liquor at the municipal golf course.

The modification will allow Turkey Creek's clubhouse to expand the sale of cereal malt beverages, which contain no more than 3.2 percent alcohol, to now include Sundays, with the exception of Easter Sunday.

Turkey Creek won't be able to start selling their beer on Sundays until after the expiration of the 60-day window required by state law to allow for anyone who would like to file a formal petition protesting the change to the ordinance which, in its current version, does not allow the sale of alcohol on Sundays within McPherson city limits.
