HESSTON — Kingman’s powerhouse softball team swept Hesston in the Swathers’ season opener on Tuesday.
The Eagles were an 18-3 winner in Game 1. The Swathers received a 2-for-2 game from Lauren Clark (including a double) and Kennedy Teach drove in two runs with a double. The Eagles scored 13 runs in the third inning to key the win.
Kingman continued to slug the ball in Game 2, winning 24-3. Clark and Emily Shirley had two hits apiece for the Swathers. One of Shirley’s hits was a double.
It was the big inning that again did in Hesston as Kingman scored 11 runs in the first.
The Swathers are back in action on Friday playing at Sterling.
