Another solid showing for CCC's Duckworth

HUTCHINSON — Central Christian College’s men’s golf team took third place in the two-day Midwest Spring Fling completed on Tuesday at Carey Park.

CCC’s Collin Duckworth was third after rounds of 72-76-148 as he continued his solid spring. Just missing the Top 10 was Lowell Stephens, who was 11th after rounds of 77-81-158.

Other CCC finishers were JP Ray (80-81-161), Josh Paine (85-87-172) and Mathew Harget (94-86-180). Noah Corn competed individually and shot 94-104-198.

Sterling’s Lorenzo Bolivar shot 72-70-142 for medalist honors. Teammate Nick Anderson was second with 73-74-147 to help the Warriors easily win the team title. Fort Hays State also was ahead of CCC.

Competing for the Lady Tigers as individuals were Alexis Briner (89-89-178), Savannah Horn (95-96-191) and Mackenzie Gales (101-93-194). Fort Hays State’s Hannah Perkins and Rockhurst’s Colleen Garvey tied for medalist with 159 totals, Perkins shooting 79-80 and Garvey 77-82.
