MARION — Canton-Galva’s Maddi Snow improved on her school triple jump record Tuesday during the first track and field meet of the season, a CKIT event hosted by Marion.

Snow went 32-4 and took second place in the event. She also earned medals in the 100 and 400.

The other highlight of the day was freshman Katie Fiedler, who burst on to the scene like a comet as she made her Eagle debut a memorable one by winning the 100 in a sizzling 12.71. She also was second in the 200 and long jump as she proved she’ll be an immediate force on the state scene.

Another C-G high placer was Dylan Wood, third in the triple jump.

C-G coach Tina McMannis was pleased with the performance as the Eagles showed a lot of promise for the future.

C-G heads to Bennington on Friday.
