MHS JV thinclads place 3rd

SALINA — McPherson High’s JV track and field teams placed third in their respective divisions on Tuesday in the Salina Central Invitational.

The Bullpup girls scored 80 points to finish behind Junction City and Abilene, while the boys’ 88 1/2 points trailed Junction City (223 1/3) and Salina South (129.16).

Zaya Goatley earned a gold for the girls by winning the triple jump. For the boys, winning   performances were by Parker Simon in the high jump, Andrew Powell in the pole vault, Aron Trost in the 400, and the 4 x 100 relay team of Powell, Tayln Huff, Jace Kinnamon and Cade Harris.
