Swather softball team swept by Kingman

STERLING — The Hesston Swathers lost a pair of softball games on Friday to Sterling.

The Black Bears won Game 1 by a 13-1 count. Hesston’s only run came on a passed ball and the Swathers were held to one hit.

Sterling completed the sweep with a 17-2 victory in Game 2, highlighted by an eight-run second inning. Katie Thrasher had the biggest hit for Hesston, which had only two in the game.

The Swathers are now 0-4 and play Tuesday at Haven.
