Lady Tigers swept in South Dakota

MADISON, S.D. — Central Christian College’s softball team traveled a long way on Tuesday to lose a pair of games.

Dakota State defeated the Lady Tigers 12-4 in Game 1 despite two hits and two RBIs by Sydney Nelson. A 10-run second inning was the difference.

The Tigers led the second game 7-3 before Dakota State scored five in the fifth to charge back for a 9-7 win.

The loss spoiled a terrific game by Lyssa Ritchhart, who had three doubles and three RBIs during a 4-for-4 game. Mandy Jacques pounded out three hits.

The Lady Tigers are now 8-29 on the season and play Monday at Salina against KCAC power Kansas Wesleyan.
