A student art exhibit is on display at the old Park School Gym and features artwork selected from high school and middle school art class students throughout McPherson County.

The exhibit highlights high school senior scholarship portfolios submitted to the scholarship competition that is open to any McPherson County high school senior who next year plans to study art at a university, college, vocational school, or art institute.

Ribbons are also displayed throughout the exhibit on artwork in various categories that were awarded first, second, or third place wins, as well as honorable mentions.

The judges for this year’s exhibit and scholarship competition are John McCluggage and Ernest Vincent Wood III. The scholarship sponsors are the Norene Ketcherside Endowment for Fine Arts; the McPherson Arts Alliance, Inc.; Dick and Bev Hess; and Leanne Kilmer Pottery at On2Clay Studio.

The exhibit has been funded in part by the McPherson County Community Foundation and is open to the public this weekend from 10:00 to 4:00 on Saturday and from 1:00 to 4:00 Sunday afternoon.

The Park School Gym can be found at 210 N. Elm St. in McPherson.
