McPherson High’s recent splits have dropped it out of the top spot in the Class 4A Division I state baseball rankings.

The Bullpups, 9-3 on the year, tumbled to No. 5 after going 2-2 in their last four games.

Miege is now No. 1, followed by Atchison, Chanute, Buhler and the Bullpups. MHS and Buhler split games last week, with the Crusaders’ 11-2 win in Game 2 probably giving it the impetus to move ahead of the Bullpups.

Andover Central, KC Piper, DeSoto, Ottawa and Andale-Garden Plain round out the Top 10. MHS and Andale-Garden Plain were supposed to play today, but it has been postponed.

In Class 2-1A, Little River has climbed to No. 2, trailing only Sacred Heart.

Pittsburg Colgan is No. 3, while the rest of the Top 10 includes Colgan, Ellis, Sedan, Medicine Lodge, Oxford, Troy, Valley Falls and Spearville.
