MOUNDRIDGE — Moundridge softball coach Aaron Annis could only tip his cap to Ell-Saline on Tuesday.

The Cardinals came away with a 15-0 and 6-2 sweep. They are 10-0 in the Heart of America and 12-0 overall as they are a potential state champion.

“That was a good team we played last night,” Annis said. “They had a good pitcher (Madi Schuman) that shut us down in the first game. We did do some good things in the second game, coming out swinging and making contact with the ball. They were just a better team last night then we were.”

The Wildcats did not have a hit in the first game, which ended after three innings. Zaelynn Foth had two hits in Game 2 for the Wildcats, who actually led 1-0 until the third inning when the Cardinals scored twice, then added four runs in the fourth.
