McPherson College soccer coach Doug Quint continues to build up his women’s program as he wants it to approach the rarefied status of his men’s team.

Quint has announced the signing of three more stellar players to letters of intent.

They are Dina Der Vartanian, Ashley Jensen and Emma Van Donselaar.

“We are certainly pleased to add these three young ladies to the future of Bulldog soccer," Quint said. "All of them have extensive club experience and will play an important part of our program as freshmen."

• Dina Der Vartanian — The diminutive 5-2 Der Vartanian was a goal-scoring machine during her high school career in Sierra Madre, Calif.

Playing for coach Ken Berry at Alverno High School, she scored 23 goals in her career and was a three-time CIF League performer. She was the team captain her final two years.

She also played for a Club-17 team that enjoyed great success and was twice a team captain.

Der Vartanian will major in biology.

• Ashley Jensen — Quint went East to Indianola, Iowa, to sign Jensen, a 5-5 defender.

She lettered for four years and was the team’s MVP defender her senior year. She achieved high academic honors all four years of high school.

She will major in business.

• Emma Van Donselaar — Van Donselaar is a highly touted in-state recruit as she plays at Shawnee Mission Northwest.

She was an All-Sunflower League performer last season and her team currently is No. 2 in Class 6A with an 8-0 and considered a strong state championship contender.

She also played for the club team BVKC attack.

She will major in Spanish.
