McPherson High’s baseball team hasn’t played in 10 days, but still moved up three spots in today’s Kansas Coaches Association poll.

The Bullpups, who at one time were No. 1 in Class 4A Division I before tumbling to No. 5, rose to the runner-up spot right behind No. 1 Miege.

Atchison is third, followed by Andale-Garden Plain and Kansas City Piper. Rounding out the poll is the second five of Buhler, Paola, Augusta, Ottawa and DeSoto.

MHS puts that No. 2 ranking on the line here today against El Dorado, with first pitch at 4 p.m. at Grant Complex. Listen to the games on 96.7 KBBE FM with Matt Cole on the play-by-play call.

Little River tumbled four spots in Class 2-1A this week. The Redskins went from No. 2 to No. 6.

Colgan is No. 1, with Sedan, Ellis, Sacred Heart and Flint Hill also ahead of Little River. Behind the Redskins are Valley Falls, Medicine Lodge, Troy and Elkhart.
