A few more items than usual are scheduled for the city commission’s regular weekly session Monday morning.
City Forester Kody Kraemer will address the commission with the Arbor Day Proclamation and the announcement of the poster contest winner. (Spoiler alert: it’s Washington Elementary’s Daniela Salgado.)
Fred Bohnenblust will be requesting building permit fees to be waived on behalf of the McPherson Area Habitat for Humanity; McPherson High School’s Senior Class President Spencer Steinert will officially request the board’s permission for the Senior Parade Event for High School Graduation; and Kendra Hopp will formerly submit the All Schools Day request form.
Community Development Director Pam Cherry will present departmental matters and EMS Director John Helmer will submit a revised approval request for a new EMS vehicle.
BPU Manager Tim Maier will present their report; the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) Joni Regnier will present matters from the CVB; and Police Chief Rob McClarty will present matters from the police department.
Director of Public Works Wayne Burns will also present matters from his department before the Director of Public Works Jeff Woodward give his report.
City Administrator Nick Gregory will finish up with reports on boards and appointments and administrative matters.
The city commission meets 8:30 Monday morning at the Municipal Center, 400 E. Kansas Ave. in McPherson. Public input is always welcome.
