SALINA — McPherson High’s JV boys track and field team had a big day Monday in the Salina Central Invitational, taking first with 119 points.

Dodge City (112) and Great Bend (95 1/2) were right behind.

It was a huge day for the Bullpups’ Cade Harris, who won the long and triple jumps and took second in the 200. Aron Trost was first in the 400 and the 4 x 100 relay team also triumphed.

The girls were third with 90 points, trailing Dodge City (119) and Southeast of Saline (100). Jordan Bailey won the 100 and the 4 x 100 relay also captured the gold.

“I am really excited about our younger kids this year,” MHS coach Jace Pavlovich said. “If they all stick with it, we have a chance to be really good in the future.”
