Baseball Eagles lose two

BROOKVILLE — Ell-Saline accumulated 38 runs in two games Thursday to deal Canton-Galva’s baseball team a pair of setbacks.

In the first game, C-G scored seven runs in the third inning to pull within 11-9, but the Cardinals then scored 12 runs in the bottom of the inning to key a 23-8 victory.

Devin Elkins, Zach Snow and Travis Unruh all had two hits to lead C-G. Snow scored two runs.

Game 2 was a 15-5 Cardinals win after the Eagles had sped to a 4-0 lead. The Cardinals had a pair of four-run innings.

Elkins continued to wear out Ell-Saline pitching with three more hits, while Unruh, Hunter Pearson and Ethan Loyd all had two.

The Eagles are scheduled to play today in Marion, weather permitting.
