WICHITA — Friday turned out to be nothing more than a mere formality in the KCAC Tennis Championships.

As expected, the McPherson College and Bethany College men pitched 5-0 shutouts of Friends and Southwestern, respectively. They meet this morning for the KCAC title at Riverside Courts.

Mac and Bethany met in McPherson last Saturday, with the Swedes winning 5-4 to claim the conference title. Both teams had been 7-0 in KCAC play starting the day.

The Mac women, the three-time defending KCAC regular-season champion, dispatched with Kansas Wesleyan 5-2 on Friday to advance to the finals where they’ll take on Ottawa this afternoon. The Braves advanced with a 5-0 blanking of Southwestern.

The Mac-Ottawa match should be a dandy as the Bulldogs won the regular-season meeting by a narrow 5-4 score.
