There’s a change at the top of the Class 4A state tennis rankings announced today.

Wichita Collegiate took over the top spot in the poll, displacing McPherson High as the Bullpups are now No. 2. The two teams are squaring off today in the AVCTL Division III-IV Championships at the McPherson High Tennis Complex.

4A’s No. 5 team, Winfield, also will be here as the league occupies three of the top five spots.

Those interrupting the league’s run are No. 3 Independence and No. 4 Topeka Hayden.

Collegiate defeated MHS in last week’s Tournament of Champions at Wichita by a mere two points.

Others to watch in 4A are Abilene, DeSoto and Miege.

Hesston remains the top team in Class 3-2-1A. Central Plains, Kansas City Christian, Trinity Catholic and Conway Springs round out the poll. Others to watch are Sterling, Wichita Independent and Sacred Heart.
