GALVA — Canton-Galva’s softball team improved to 5-7 on the season on Tuesday by pounding out a pair of lopsided victories over Bennington.
C-G cranked out 17 hits in Game 1 during a 14-4 rout.
Eight of the nine C-G hitters had at least one safety. Most notable were Autumn Colgin (4 for 4, four RBIs), Alex Koehn (3 for 4, three runs), Taylor Everett (three runs, two hits, three RBIs), Zoie Nichols (three runs, two hits), Sierah Nordstrom (two hits, two runs) and Zoe Unruh (two hits).
Everett was the winning pitcher.
Game 2 was another Eagle breeze, 17-2. Six runs in the first, five in the second and four in the third led to the victory.
The Eagles pounded out 15 more hits, with Ashton Brewer leading the way by going 3 for 4 with two runs scored. Also, Unruh had two hits and four RBIs. Koehn (two hits), Colgin (two hits, Logan Dawes (two hits) and Kenzee Hiebert (two hits, three RBIs) were other leaders.
Unruh was the winning pitcher.
