Baseball Swedes blasted by Tabor

GREAT BEND — Bethany College’s baseball team will need to knock off arch-rival Kansas Wesleyan today to stay alive in the KCAC Postseason Tournament.

The Swedes were routed 14-2 on Wednesday by regular-season champion Tabor to fall into today’s loser bracket. Kansas Wesleyan lost 13-10 to York.

Bethany and KW meet today at 11 a.m.

Tabor was remarkably consistent at the plate, pounding out 19 hits and scoring in nearly every inning.

Randy Ventura had a big game in defeat as he led the Swedes by going 3 for 4. Kyle Silva added two hits as Bethany had eight total.
