GALVA — Canton-Galva’s softball team played Sylvan Grove-Lincoln as well as Remington in a triangular on Thursday, but couldn’t find success against either team.

The Eagles played Sylvan Grove-Lincoln in Game 1, with most of the action taking place in the final inning.

C-G trailed 4-0 after six innings, but then the visitors scored seven in the seventh. The Eagles answered with four in the 11-4 loss.

Zoie Nichols stroked three hits to lead C-G.

Remington, as it has done against many teams, made quick work of the Eagles, 22-7. The Broncos scored 13 runs in the first inning, though the Eagles showed some grit with seven in the bottom of the inning. The Eagles, though, couldn’t sustain the attack.

Six different Eagles had one hit each, including a double by Logan Dawes.

C-G is now 5-9 on the season.
