The Kansas Tennis Coaches Association has announced its last rankings for the regular season since the state tournaments are contested this Friday and Saturday.

McPherson High is the No. 2 team in Class 4A, trailing Wichita Collegiate. The Bullpups are the defending state champions, but will be chasing the Spartans, who defeated them in each of the last two tournaments they matched up in.

Independence, Topeka Hayden and Abilene completed the Top 5.

Hesston, which has been ranked No. 1 in Class 3-2-1A all year, dropped to No. 2 after finishing third in its regional meet. It trails regional champion Central Plains. Kansas City Christian is No. 3, followed by Sterling and Trinity Catholic.

Hesston, Central Plains, Sterling and Trinity Catholic were all in the same regional.
